Sorry, but given the choice between $149 (MSRP A3) for HDDVD and $299 for BD (expected MSRP for Funai), BD is the obvious choice for me with 70-75% of Hollywood releases (come May).

(of course I own both - paid $99 for A3 and $299 for PS3)

This is a key point!

December 2008 BD SALs outsold HD-DVD SALs with BD players costing more. It appears the public prefered ,by a slight margin, blu-ray.

I feel HD-DVD is in a deep hole and impossible to dig out.
