They're supposed to be able to offer repairs for ten years, but they have an escape clause that allows them to offer you an equivalent product at a discount instead of servicing your existing set.
This is usually because the cost to service a defective set is higher than replacing it as a result of labor, the need for specialized equipment and training, module replacment rather than component level service and the fact that designing a product to be serviceable adds cost.
The catch is, of course, you may not want their equivalent set, or you may object to the discounted price. Too bad.
Get used to this, this is how just about all the Chinese manufacturers work. During the warranty period, they will give you a whole new product with no questions asked and after the warranty expires, you basically buy a new display at a discount (or not, if you don't want another product from that manufacturer).
