Anyway, I am aware of the lip sync issues with the Samsung DLPs. I've googled, read, read again, and still have questions. Is there still issues with audio sync? I'm looking at picking up a brand new HLP4663w for a lower price since the newer xx67's are out. I was wondering if Samsung fixed the problem they had earlier in the role out of the HLPxx63w.

Mainly I am concerned about audio problems with my TiVo which is a lower quaility video signal. ie. not HD tivo. Any help or input would be appreciated!
I can tell you right now that the HLP4663W DOES have lip-sync problems still. I tried that exact model in 11/2004 and it showed itself on more than 5 different DVDs.

I called Samsung and they told me if I run the sound directly from the DVD player source to my receiver, that they cannot control the Sync of audio/video. They told me to run the sound into the TV FIRST then out from the TV to the receiver. The problem with this setup is all I would have is STEREO sound instead of DD5.1 or DTS 5.1. This was unacceptable to me since I paid thousands for my sound system.

Just call Samsung and ask them if this is true. If they tell you NO and you buy one, make sure you try watching Pirates of the Carribean in DTS, and when you see the sync problem, call them back. Then they will come clean. They tried to tell me that less than 1% of the TVs have lip-sync problems, but they also said almost all their customers just use the TV's internal speakers, so take that 1% number with a grain of salt.

I also tried the LG 44SZ63D DLP, and my current GREAT (who would have thought thisd about RCA?) RCA HD50LPW162 DLP, and neither of them had the lip-sync problems using the exact same equipment hooked up the exact same way with the exact same cables. Sounds like it is STILL a Samsung issue almost exclusively.
