This is good news hopefully they will pass the savings on to us and have the cost of HDDVD comes down

I think they're more looking at improving the profitability on HD DVD rather than passing any savings onto us right now sadly. In the long run though, any cost cutting they can do is great, because at the end of the day it makes studios more likely to support the format.
