If anybody here is going to buy a Universal Remote or any kind of remote they need to buy it from UEI or URC. As that's all they do is remotes. UEI is more of a favorite for me as it's easy to setup the remote. Radio Shack Universal Remotes 15-2146 and 15-100 are UEI brands. One-In-ALL are the same. URC remotes look like they're a bit complex and I didn't care for their Consumer Service. I had got 4 of their remotes an then all of a sudden I the memory got so full that I started to loose codes that were programmed.
Philips remotes are not that great.. None of they are any good. They do make good cables and a few other things. But the remotes are crap!

I agree w/ you on the MX3000, its cool at first...but if you have a DVR you will hate it! I personally have the MX850...haven't had any issues yet (knock on wood). I guess I need to buy more stuff!
UEI is a company that I'm not as familiar w/, have to look into them later...
I definitely agree w/ you on Phillips...more problems w/ their products in the past than any other than I can recall. I'm not a big fan of touch screens anyway, and it's all that they can make. I don't know about their cables, but I can make a descent cable out of RG-6 and a "F" connector and a "RCA" end.
