DVR Scheduler Info
Don't know if this info was posted already, haven't been online for a while but here you go!
At this time, DVR Scheduler is limited as a beta version to:
• HR20-100, HR20-700, and R15-500
Explain to customer:
• DVR Scheduler is new - and we'd like you to try it
• It's a stable version - you can easily schedule recordings using it today.
• We expect it will go into a production version in early 2008.
o You won't need to make any changes to your scheduled recordings.
o Your recordings will still be in effect, even if we change the version of DVR Scheduler.
Cost and Availability
• Cost - DVR Scheduler service:
o 0$
• Cost - PPVs:
o Varies, depending on what you choose to record and buy.
• Availability:
o At this time, only available for:
HR20-100

Equipment Required
• HR20-100, HR20-700, or R15-500
o Must be plugged in.
o Must have a least one SAT-IN connection
Must be in SAT-IN-1.
If possible, always connect both SAT-INs - for dual tuner.
o Must have available hard-drive space for the new recordings.
• Internet connection:
o Internet does NOT need to be connected to receiver.
o Just use any computer - from work, from hotel, etc. - and log into your account on DIRECTV.com.

How do I Use it?
From Internet:
1. Go to DIRECTV.com
2. Log into your account.
3. Select the show you want to record.
4. Select the receiver you want to record to.
5. When you complete the screens:
o DIRECTV sends you an E-mail to confirm your request to record.
o Recording starts, as requested.
From mobile phone:
1. Log into your account.
2. Search for and select the show you want to record.
3. Select the receiver you want to record to.
4. When you complete the screens:
o Recording starts, as requested.
How does it Work?
Your request is uplinked via the Internet to the DIRECTV satellite, and then it?s downlinked to your receiver.
• From the time you OK the recording ? to the time it gets to your receiver - takes about 5 seconds.
Possible delays:
• If there's a lot of recording traffic, it could take 10 seconds or more - but this would be rare.
• If there's a problem with your Internet connection, the process could be slower.
• If your request is by mobile phone, your phone provider may have difficulties that could slow the process

Security
• DIRECTV only collects data on which shows are recorded - for all the customers collectively. We don't monitor your personal selections.
• Parental Controls:
o The same settings apply, even if you're remotely recording with DVR Scheduler.
Troubleshooting
DVR Scheduler is part of DVR Service:
• Make sure DVR Service is on account or included in their programming package.
If recording didn't work:
• You may have recorded to the wrong receiver.
• Your receiver may have had a recording conflict.
• While you were away:
• A family member may have made a change to the current or scheduled recordings.
E-mail confirmation:
• Message confirms your request to record, but it doesn't confirm the recording itself was successful.
o To be sure recording got scheduled, check it on your receiver.
HR20 users:
• If you record a show in Standard-Def, but it also exists in
High-Def:
o The HD version will record by default.
o This is by design - we assume you would always prefer HD over SD.
What is DVR Scheduler?
• It lets you remotely record shows to your DVR or HD-DVR ? through the Internet or mobile phone.
• Which shows?
o Any shows that you already subscribe to - as well as PPVs.
o Includes HD shows if you have an HD-DVR receiver.
o Cannot remotely record DOD (DIRECTV on Demand) titles at this time.
• How?
o You log onto your account, select the show your want to record, and the receiver that you want it on.

Who is the DIRECTV on DVR Scheduler?
• DIRECTV is the provider of DVR Scheduler
• DVR Scheduler works in conjunction with DIRECTV.com or your mobile phone service - to let you remotely schedule recordings to your DVR or HD-DVR.
