Default Need help with hdmi cable selection.

Hi,

I purchased a new Sony 3D TV and have 30 feet runs of HDMI in place, in walls. I have not yet tested the 3D feature. I have been told that the wires I have will not support 3D.
These wires are about 5 years old and not sure of there ratings.
Should I just buck up and buy some new ones and which ones.
Ant suggestions?

Thanks,

Dean

I would try it first and see how it does. Anytime you get extended runs above 35-30 ft you may have problems as this is near the supposed max accepatable range. Then again you may not I have either a 30 or 35 ft run can't remember exact and have never had a prob.

A 30' run is stretching it for a HDMI cable no matter how new it is although I would suggest you replace your older cables with something like this LINK You may or may not need a repeater since the run is so long. If that is the case something like this would work just fine LINK

Hope this helps...
