Yes, it is. additionally Pacific Rim DVD will be released recently.
I think it is worth collecting, if you like this kind of science-fiction movie.

Keep in mind that the DVD is not 3D. To view 3D at home you need a 3D disk (a Blu-Ray), 3D Blu-Ray player, and a display capable of 3D.

"Pacific Rim" live action was shot in 2D and post production was used to convert it to 3D. The CG in "Pacific Rim" was done in a computer so it's "native" 3D in that sense. It was combined with the post produced live action 3D so the feature is actually considered a "hybrid" 3D feature. In films like "Avatar" and "Life of Pi" all action was shot in 3D and combined with 3D CG so these are considered "native" 3D features. Post produced 3D isn't as good as "native" 3D but it's getting better and most people wouldn't be able to tell tell the difference if it's done well.

PR is not much of a movie besides the pyrotechnics.

For the most beautiful 3-D experience, go with AVATAR, a brilliant film.
