Unknown. There has been nothing in the media nor from Panasonic or Fox concerning the general release of Avatar on 3D BD.

Well... exclusivity (reportedly) ends this month, so I'm guessing after February 2012.

With Titanic being re-released in early April, I would guess that the beginning of April is possible... but there surely would have been some kind of announcement about this by now.

We may just have to wait until within a month before the release of Avatar 2.

I am not sure and also looking forward to it. I think it will be a little late, because I have heard that the Avatar 3D II will released in 2014.

I just picked it up yesterday for $19.99. Can hardly wait to see it on my new set.

I just stumbled on to it for sale at Walmart... I'm stunned that I didn't know it had been released.
Kinda thought there would be a bigger fanfare around here for it after all the years of talking/complaining that we couldn't get it.
Heh, sadly, I didn't have the $20 today to buy it.

They also had a 3D version of iRobot right next to it; that was surprising to see.
I'm assuming that wasn't shot in 3D since I've never heard of it existing that way; seems like an odd choice for a conversion this late in the game.
Probably the only Proyas movie I wouldn't do cartwheels to get in 3D actually....

It was originally shot in 3D and only available with the purchase of a Pioneer PDP a special promotional offer that restricted the public sale of the 3D version till the contract expired.
