Really, wow and here they're announcing all those upcoming 3D films coming to the theaters.

What did you base it on?

Where you referring only to the movies in the OP? confused:

I think 3d movies are good but slightly over rated and I get a headache sometimes watching them its pushing it in my opinion

Well said my friend, why do we keep on falling for Corporate bull dust!
DVD comes out bare bones, you buy it because you waited long enough, a week later Spec. Ed.,you buy it. A week later Double Disc, A week later Director's Cut and so on ..........

The same thing is happening to blu-ray, only now you pay a lot more.
As for 3D i'm not sold yet, i've d seen 6 so far and the only movie that impressed me was Resident Evil: Afterlife, Milas's two shot guns came right at me,so was the hammer throw and bullet casings.

Captain America, Green Lantern, Thor, The Last airbender had very little 3D fx, again THEY using 3D as a selling point for movies, i find you pay more attention looking out for the affects than paying attention to the actual story if any!

Titanic is also going to be re-released in 3D. Not sure if it is going to improve the movie in any way.

But since a vast majority already own the trilogy on dvd or bd,,,,just don't see it being a big seller.
Well... there's a difference. BD tends to always be an upgrade in picture quality due to the fact that film (35mm and larger, anyway) has a much higher 'resolution' than 480p (or even 1080p) so the detail will at least improve. There are exceptions to this, such as films shot in SD video or low quality 16mm film, but they are few and far between.

A 2D-3D conversion can't be as good as an actual 3D film unless the movie is digitally altered frame by frame to look exactly like a second camera was there... and to do that accurately isn't really possible, atm. Right now 3D conversion pretty much just means some digital artists went through and cut things out of the image and photo shopped in the backgrounds to make it look like it was shot in 3D, but it looks like a pop-up book.

There has been talk that the 3D conversion of Titanic is the closest to a natively shot 3D movie yet, but I'll believe it when I see it... which won't be for quite a while because I'm not paying to see that dreck in a theatre.

The two best 3d movies I enjoyed watching in the theater was Avatar and Jungle Book.
