Here's a long shot. Your display resolution is 1366 x 768, which is not a standard ATSC HD resolution (either 720p--1280 x 720, or 1080i--1920 x 1080).

Often DVD Players and STB's interrogate the display over HDMI to find out it's resolution and set the output format accordingly.

It would be a really stupid oversight to not allow the STB to work with alternate resolutions, but it *is* a possibility. Perhaps the display is supposed to tell the STB it's 720p or 1080i, but it's telling it it's 1366 x 766 and the STB doesn't like it?
