Some samsungs have had trouble with HDMI because of the HDCP "handshake" issue. You can try two things:
First, turn off both the STB and the TV; then:
Turn on the TV, and then the STB . . . . might work
Turn on the STB and then the TV . . . . might work
If either one works, you have a temporary fix; if neither works, then you must contact samsung for a fix.
Other option, for short-term fix would be to use Component cables which will work.
