Recordable media is *far* too expensive and time consuming to consider using for mass-market, pre-recorded movies.
That's why *all* mass-market, pre-recorded discs (CD, DVD, HD DVD and BD) are stamped or pressed in read-only media.
One of BD's big mistakes was coming out with BD-Recordable first before perfecting BD-ROM for movies.
