Even at 4x it would still take almost 2 hours to write to that thing. It could be useful, if the disc is cheap enough for security camara's. As for movies, I guess you could use it to fit a whole season of a TV show or a mini series, maybe even a trilogy but again cost and yeild would become an issue.
