New light engine installed in a Sony KF50WE610
The set is a 50 inch LCD 1080i/720p
So, the new engine worked wonders! The screen is way brighter and more detailed than the old engine was displaying. But now that I have lived with it for a couple of weeks it seems that the picture quality is not as perfect as it could be. This is a subjective opinion from watching the set. I haven't run any calibration software or even adjusted the controls on the set, I just left it the way the tech left it after the engine was installed. He never mentioned the need for calibration and I had forgotten all about it until now.
Is it generally a good idea to calibrate after a light engine install? I imagine so.
Also, the set is over 3 years old and is still running on the original lamp. If I had the set calibrated today and the lamp needed replacing next week, would I need to recalibrate again for a new lamp?
