Well I finally got fed up with synch issue and rainbows popping in and out everywhere with my sammy.
Sammy blames synch issue on the broadcast companys and HTS but it was very obvious to me that it was the Sammy DLP tht had the problem. I noticed it almost all the time with HTS connected to DVD component cables but not at all with XBOX on diff input same cables and not much to not at all with standered SAT through Svideo.
I then but a sammy DVD 720p dvi cable player and tried again. Synch problem was less but still there. It was a prob with the tv. Maybe if i exchanged it the next set would have been better but after seing rainbows more and more I became aggravated with sammy and DLP. so purchased sony LCD KDF50we655 4days ago, connected my old toshiba dvd with component again and no audio synch issue right off the back. Dont get me wrong either Im not sony biased, i bought the sammy
first bec told dlp pq better and it was cheaper by 400.00. My sony was a floor model and sound is dead on with an old dvd player you be the judge but i think sony has a better reputaion and probably make better video processors and have more product testing then sammy. When you buy a 2500.00 tv you shouldnt have any sound synch issues that crap should have been addressed before the product was sent to stores. And for sammy to try to pass the buck of blame to your dvd player or the tv networks is ridiculous. The sony I purchased is dead on with its sound synch with HTS, xbox or dvd and SAT so far seems ok too for standard signal. And by the way i was expecting the picture to look slightly less sharp as i was told dlp was better and it did look better in the store and i was ok with that but when i got the sony hooked up i was extremely surprised that it actually looked sharper with SAT then the sammy and no rainbows, thank god they were killing me, especially after a drink or two. If you dont see rainbow hope to god you never do bec i started seing them all the time. As far as SDE i think ive seen it but not much and not frustrating like DLP issues i had.
Not that i like looking for problems but is there any issues with LCD or this Sony model i should be looking for since it was a floor model that probably had many hours of use on it. I did buy the two year service that can be renewed for 300.00 in another two years. Im almost hoping ill get to replace it with a newer model then if i have issues with it. Gotta love those service plans sometimes.
