Hi, i'm having a very similar problem to the original poster. I have an fx 5200 connected to a philips rear projection hdtv via DVI-D. As with the OP the computer does not seem to see that anything is connected to the dvi port. I have also tested a Radeon 9800 and had similar results. Unfortunately I am not able to connect to the television through DVI-I as the OP did and am wondering if anyone has any other possible solutions.
