This whole HDMI 1.3 hype is just that and this article basically says what some (myself included) have been saying since last summer. That is why I bought my first HDMI receiver during the last holiday season. I knew it would be a waste to wait and then pay more to boot.
HD audio decoders in the receiver a waste of money except for the possible music/concert discs that might not be encoded in Advance Mode. We do not know if that will even happen so the answer is to make sure the HD audio decoders are IN THE HD PLAYER.
