Most of these specs I don't think will ever be understood by the average consumer. my dad, for example, has a fully dedicated home theater in his basement, and a 50 inch dlp in his living room, and didn't even know the difference or benefit from an hdmi or component cable compared to the old analog cables he was using[I think analog is the right term, its the red white and yellow cables]. But anyways, my dad is no j6p, he is a very tech savvy guy, but he never would have known the difference without my explanation of the two over dinner last year. Now how in the world is someone like him or ever more of an average Joe ever going to understand a concept like hdmi 1.3 and what makes it better?
