I have noticed with the rechargeable 880/890 etc., that after some use, the battery contacts don't like to charge the remote after a while. This is why I went with the 550. I'd rather replace batteries than deal with the charging contacts after a few months of use.
My only gripe with the Harmony remotes is the slower interface when hitting buttons.
