The only place we are disagreeing on is, I'm using MSRP pricing, where you are using the discounted prices from Amazon.
Ultimately, what the vendor decides to sell the disc for should not really impact the studio's profit margin, just the vendors.
The studios sell their discs for the same mark-up universally (maybe in the case of extremely large vendors that sell in extremely high numbers maybe they work out a economy of scale discount).
I'm saying the studios should place the same MSRP on all the Combo/Twin discs as the normal SD discs and placement of HD compatible DVDs in consumer's homes would skyrocket and greatly facilitate the public's progression to HD DVD disc ownership and eventually would replace SD DVDs with HD DVDs and HD DVD players.
Perhaps in the short term they would lose a slight amount of profit (maybe not), which would easily be replaced with not duplicating the manufacturer, packaging and shipping of two different formats and later increase profits due to economy of scale and vastly increased market share.
