I think Combo's can definetely help ease the transition. Blu-ray supporters like to point to the fact that regular DVD's will look better on Blu-ray players, so its a smooth transition. That simply negates all the existing investment someone may have in DVD hardware.
With Combo's, they can get all the benefits of HD DVD And DVD on the same disc and they don't need to replace all their existing hardware to watch their new purchases.
Here's a question though - with combo's, is one side HD DVD dual layer and the other DVD Dual Layer? I believe twins is 2 layers for HD DVD And 1 layer DVD, correct? Is 1 layer enough for a 3 hour DVD? Perhaps without extras? If not, it seems combo's are the only way they can do this.
