This cable company through the urging of I believe ABC has disabled the FF feature on their DVR's so you can't skip through the ads. It would make sense that the 30 sec. skip feature would also be dis-allowed.

Not in myarea they haven't. I have a Cox supplied moto DVR and have no problem with FF on any channels. I believe you may be thinking of VOD "IN AN AGREEMENT BOUND TO have a ripple effect on the DVR industry, Walt Disney Co.'s
