But basically everything is new if you've never seen the movie, and there are thousands of good catalog movies I don't have and have never seen. And just because it comes out now doesn't mean it is better.
Anyway, Universal will be releasing quite a few day and date this year.

I only buy the occasional new release for that same reason. If I cannot buy it at Walmart in the first couple of days of release when they sell them for $15.00, I usually wait a year to buy a new release when they cost $10.00 too.
My wife will sometimes buy a kid movie upon release even if it is not on sale.
