When will most programming be available in High Definition?
I currently have a Standard Definition TV and Analog cable from Comcast of New Jersey. I want to buy a High Definition TV and get High Definition programming from Comcast or a satellite provider. I find that Comcast and the satellite provider’s offer very little High Definition programming. I can get the local New York City channels in High Definition and ESPN and Discovery but very little else. What is the problem? I know that TNT offers High Definition and a local sports channel (MSG). Why doesn’t Comcast or the Satellite providers offer these channels? Do they have technical restraints? If yes when will they resolve these problems? When will all the other channels start offering High Definition programming? When they do will Comcast and the satellite providers be able to provide them to their customers? If not when will they be able to carry these additional High Definition channels? In short, when will most programming be available in High Definition? I realize that programming that was created in Standard Definition will never be High Definition.
Thanks
