I have no problem telling which screens are LCD vs Plasma even in a very bright showroom as along as there is fairly fast motion, but with many even a slow panning shot can show the motion issues. Don't get me wrong, I own a 32" LCD in my bedroom and I like it ok, but my 50" RP DLP looks better with SD signals also over the 32" LCD I have.

I wasn't even aware of the method of measuring it being different between manufacturers. Either way, I guess you will generally be safe as long as you stick with a good brand model, usually one of the 3 S's. If I didn't like to game so much, plasma would be what I want..................
I do love DLP RPTV's as they seem to be biggest value in terms of screen size and image quality, but I just wish I had the room.
