I suspect in the next year those 3 issues will no longer be issues judging by how they have been improving on them so far.
Congrats to the OP for getting into HD. The PS3 is probably the only smart BD player to buy at this point IMO.

Some analyst released an article last month that predicted that LCD TV prices will drop upto 40% by next Christmas, so that should help to erase some of the price difference. The other thing going on is a competitive battle within LCD manufacturers as the 2nd/3rd tier LCD manufacturers are really stepping up the battle by offering increased levels of performance at a budget price.
The deep black issue is one issue that I am not fond of. It's kind of annoying watching movies that have a really dark theme to them, only to see the dark black colors appear more like a dark grey on my LCD. I imagine they'll find ways to resolve this as technology develops. Plasma's used to do horrible with dark blacks, but are doing better than before although they still don't do as great as DLP's.
As for the motion blur issue, that appears to be another issue that is getting resolved. The new model year Samsung LCD's are now sporting <5ms response times, as well as the new Sharp's as well.
The biggest reason I still prefer an LCD really boils down to space considerations. I don't want to risk ruining an expensive plasma by gaming on it for extended periods of time, and any type of RPTV is really too big for me to fit in the space I have allotted. The fact that LCD's also run nice and cool is a plus since summer time temperatures can get really hot even with the a/c unit on full blast.
