While I don't condone the purchase of a BDP at this time, i'll congradulate you on your entry into the sweet ass world of HD movies. Just don't forget to pick up an HD-A2 HD-DVD player in the future so that you can get the entire HD experience, especially since HD-DVD offers so much for so little. If you don't want to spend much money, Chinese players should hit the market sometime later this year that will make this interesting.
Your reasoning is exactly why I prefer LCD TV's over Plasma. Not only are they lighter and more portable, but I like how they are virtually immune to screen burn in as we know it. There are many gamers that game on plasmas and have managed to find ways to avoid the issue, but personally don't want to take that risk on something that is so expensive anyway
