The PS3 gets generally good reviews for both video and audio quality and is fairly "future proof" because of it's network upgrade ability.
One drawback I don't like is it uses Bluetooth so if you're into universal remotes you won't be able to use it since they're ir or rf. I've heard of a work around to make it work but think it's fairly complex.
Compared to the pricing of stand alone Blu-ray players though, it's a real deal and who knows you might even get into gaming.
