I am sure some of you are familiar with the nagging problem where HDMI could not be connected to a television "through" an AVR due to some sort of "incompatability" issue within DTV receivers.
That all changed earlier today when I successfully routed HDMI from the Directv HR20 DVR through the Onkyo TX-SR804 AVR on to our Sony 46" KDFE46E2000 HDTV. I'm also very happy to report that both SD and HD audio and video quality is excellent.
I can only surmise that this success is due to a recent HR20 firmware update. Other possible contributing factors may be the recent installation of ultra premium HDMI cables along with a Ground Loop Isolator. The GLI is positioned inline with the subwoofer.
