Hey passt25 -
I am no lover of Comcast, but I am not alone in thinking that Comcast HD (in the Boston area) is slightly better than Dish HD (I have the 622). Watching the football playoffs this weekend on my Sony 60" rear-projection LCD (using HDMI), a friend noticed far greater pixelization (when there was motion) now that I switched to Dish HD. I thought all HD was the same, but I'm not so sure now. I will NOT go back to Comcast (they are way too arrogant), but I wish I understood why Dish HD is not quite as clear (don't get me wrong, the Dish HD is very, very good -- especially DiscoveryHD & HDNET). Does anyone know?? Or do folks still think I'm crazy.
On a slightly different thought...
Reading another thread -- someone compared TW, DirectTV, and Dish HD and they thought DirectTV had the best HD image (I had TW when I was out in Rochester NY and I thought the HD was ok). This tells me that not all HD is equal (obviously). BTW, my TV is set to 720p - which was recommended to me for programs with a lot of motion (not sure if I can tell the difference between the 720p and the 1080i when watching football). I'm just hoping the 1080p TV's will be clearer (although I don't look forward to dropping another $3K for a TV).
