Default Mitsu Black and white screen

I got a Mitsu-WD52725 back in Dec of 2004 and this is the first problem I have had, I am lucky I guess, from what I read. But this is a problem I have not read about at all. Yesterday I was playing xbox 360 in 720p and the screen froze, not unusual Microsoft's products do this every now and then. So I shut off the xbox, the screen image remains the same, so I still see the game in a frozen state but the xbox is off. I turn the tv off, wait a bit turn it back on, goes to a blue screen quick then what I thought was a white screen. Okay.... shut it off and unplugged it, waited a bit then turn it back on, same thing. Waited til' today to let it cool and took a look at the lamp nothing unusual there but then I thought it didn't do anything to really say that the lamp was bad, so I cleaned the air filter on the side, and powered up same thing but I noticed that the screen isn't white. It's like a black and white checker but with rectangles, not squares, I almost want to say it is showing all the pixels but I don't know. I was thinking though, does anyone think it might be the color wheel went bad!? (somehow!?) or mirrors out of alignment? I get sound, just not what I would consider a real picture. I purchased it at Ultimate Electronics and I believe I have a 3yr warranty. The reciept says:
Warranty--52" DLP HD INTG/DCR
Desc: 3yr UPG 3yr 2X Bulb Coverage
I am probably going to call UE tommorrow, just asking to see if anyone thinks it might be something simple. It was nice to look and see I had another year to pick up some bulbs, might as well just to have them. Thanks in advance!
Oh and I have tried the reset button as well, nothing new.
