Re: CM 4228 Export
Thanks for the information.
The antenna are about $US45 each trade.
Given I have one antenna.
A 2 yagi horizontal array is about $US95 extra including a low loss joiner so will try that first.
The quad yagi array is about $US180.
By a diamond array assume you mean a 3 high vertical stack of one on the top row, two in the middle row and one on the bottom row, so 1-2-1.
Have tried Google and have not found an information on this type of array, do you have a link or further information? What are the advantages over say a 4 horizontal, or a 2x2?
Assume the spacing in both horizontal and vertical is the wavelength of the lowest frequency.
The reason I thought the 4228 would be useful is that as stated many times the UHF signal diffuses after 30 miles. Would the array assist in capturing this? Am guessing so.
Another alternative is the Fracarro PU16H (see attached) but that would cost about $US260 to ship from Australia so think will try an array first.
Thanks for the answer. I have read widely on this and still could not decide.
