right now i have direct tv total choice plus on 3 tv's. my bill is about $63/month. if i upgarde to hdtv it sounds like it will go over $75 plus if i go with dvr, will they charge me another $5 per month for the hook up. i guess that's one of the biggest things that bugs me about switching from cable. i used to have every cable plug in the house wired up. now with direct i have to pay $5 per output.
right now which is the best deal for hd, direct or dish? i watch some sports and would like my local channels, but i would still like to get more hd channels than the 10 channels offered by direct or the 20 channels offered by dish/voom.
The thing with digital cable (atleast where i live) you have to pay 5 bucks for the digital cable box per tv, so no biggy there. The thing with Dish is yes they have more hd channels but they are channels that you probably wouldn't watch. Like the rave channel or fashion or something like that. If you want to pay extra for the football package then go with directtv. If it was up to me every channel would be hd, but for now the cable companies and satellite companies just feed us enough to keep us hungry. If you are fortunate to live in an area where you can recieve your locals with an ota then that is just an added plus. No matter who you decide to go with the prices are all gonnna be pretty close. It is basically up to you and how much you want to spend on tv.
