On Saturday, January 15th I ordered a Samsung HL-P5663W from TV Authority. The shipping was to be five to seven business days.
On January 25th, I started trying to find out where my TV was. I sent an E-mail to my salesperson who didn't reply. Then I called TV Authority and was told the TV would arrive on Thursday the 27th. While this was EIGHT business days after ordering, I thought that if it showed up, all would be forgiven.
On the 26th, I received an E-mail from my salesperson who said that it took 24 hours to process my order AFTER the weekend, so the seven days didn't start until Tuesday the 18th. The 26th would have been seven business days after that date, she said. I didn't reply, but was thinking O.K., then where's my TV?
It's now Friday the 28th and no TV. When I checked the shipping company's tracking site, it said the TV hadn't been picked up until the 26th -- 11 DAYS after my order was placed! Plus, there was no information as to where the Samsung currently was.
An added problem is that we're moving this weekend to a new home. When I ordered the TV, I thought that 14 days would be more than enough to get it here, even with 5- to7-day shipping.
Others have had problems with TV Authority's shipping. I'm kicking myself that for a couple of hundred dollars I didn't go with Crutchfield's.
