I have posted this on several threads regarding HDMI:

Go to Monter Cable and READ the facts on how POOR the HDMI spec is (even the 'new' 1.3 released in the last week or so), then you'll begin to understand all the problems you and others are experiencing.

Most problems are caused by POOR implementation of a POOR 'standard'. It works only when everything is exactly perfect, doesn't when it's just a wee bit off. Add to that several bits of the 'spec' that (previous to 1.3 and perhaps even in that) not working, and you add more inherent problems into the mix.

There are many vendors that are telling folks to forget HDMI until the HDMI group gets it's act together.
