I have had very good results with games on my Sony rear projection CRT display (KP57WS500) and my Hitachi plasma (55HDT52). No lag or out of sync issues on either. I have only heard of sync issue with DLP sets. I know I had no issues with CRT rear projection or Plasma. I am unsure but think LCD is a safe bet too for gaming.
