I'd hope that that Directv is intuitive enough to get on the ball ASAP. Sports fans like me will not put up with this crap much longer (ie not broadcasting TNT in HD during the Western Conference Finals, big no-no!). Once the Fox Sports digital networks become more widespread, the pressure will be put on Directv to expand. The've worked for years to try to recruit the cable tv subscribers; I hope they're not stupid enough to loose them by not keeping up with the HD world.

As a sports fan, I agree. Just wanted to check in. I'm new to this forum, and about to be new to Direct TV. Not being able to get the NBA Finals in HD pushed me over the edge to dump Time-Warner cable. IMHO, the satellite companies have little to fear from cable- they've always been a day late and a dollar short. It was damned miraculous that the CBS HD feed showed up on TW the Friday before the last Super Bowl. Coincidence? I seriously doubt it. Even if I can't get the TNT HD feed, it was still worth it to dump TW. Their marketing people have to be clueless. No ABCHD (no MNFHD), no ESPNHD (no SNFHD), no NFL Network, but we're adding more Spanish language (& si hablo espanol & I don't care) and more religious programming instead. Do those guys have mush for brains?? Give me 50 channels that I'll actually watch, instead of giving me 50 decent channels and 280 garbage stations.
BTW, I'm hoping I didn't goof up going for the Directv Toshiba HD receiver- my OTA digital HD stations are all less than 5 miles from my house- I'll give everyone a full post install report.
