I don't know much about home stereos or which brand is good either.
If you ever have a question about car stereo then feel free to ask, that's my area. I've been installing car stereos since I was 15, I've heard everything and seen everything. I'm a bass head so to speak. Surprising I know so much about car stereos yet i know nothing about home stereos, you wouldn't believe how different they can be.
I once hooked up a 1000watt Phioenex Gold 10th aniversary edition amp to two JL w7's in my buddies jeep. Lets just say the amp is worth almost as much as the jeep. Also, 1000watts is VERY VERY conservative figure, it's pure clean watts. You could have 5 amps totaling 5000watts and this Phionex Gold amp will still blow it all away. The amp required a Gel Cell battery as well as a distribution block/capicitor. Could have easily blown the windows out as well as your ear drums. Insane, but..... I don't know a damn thing about home audio. Also that PG amp, at the time only 12 were shipped to US and Canada, audio nuts in the know would sell there kidneys for one. They might be more availible now, I'm not sure.
