Ok first off I dont have Cox,I have Comcast but it sounds like a similiar deal. If I didnt have the HD stb but subscribe to digital cable and plug coaxial right into my tv with built in tuner...I do a channel scan and after a few minutes when its done I have HD channels....the problem for me is they are in an odd order,which guys with OTA might be more familiar how it breaks it down but its something like I'll have channel 500,then 500.1,500.2 and some seem to be repeats. It works and I guess if I figure out the sequence of the channels it could be worth it but its a little confusing for me,but like I said ask someone who uses OTA and they will probably know what the sequence is.
