In terms of Plasma televisions, the Japanese manufacturers are tops, the Koreans tend to be a step behind, and the Chinese tend to be 2 steps behind. Is that changing? Probably. Will that change? Yes. But as things stand, there is a huge difference between a Panasonic Plasma and a Sylvania.

Oh, and you can add Hitachi/Fujitsu to the first tier manufacturers.
